Overview

The Goldcliff Copper Mountain-Tulameen project is a contiguous block of 59 mineral claims totalling 25,979 hectares. The claims were acquired by staking in early 2008 and are 100 per cent owned by Goldcliff. The project area has established infrastructure, with the town of Princeton, British Columbia as the centre of commercial activity. The project is situated west of Highway 3, a major transportation route in the province of British Columbia, and contains abundant access roads.

The Princeton Copper-Gold district is a world class copper-silver-gold mining region hosting porphyry style mineralization. The district hosts the Copper Mountain mine which operated from 1972 to 1996 and produced 1.74 billion pounds of copper, 9.1 million ounces of silver and 730,000 ounces of gold. Copper Mountain Mining Corporation is restarting the mine and is currently in the construction phase. The Copper Mountain mine project, located 15 kilometres southwest of Princeton, B.C. Current measured and indicated resources are 518.6 million tons of 0.31% Cu containing 3.2 billion pounds of copper with gold and silver credits. The project is 75 per cent owned by Copper Mountain Mining and 25 per cent owned by Mitsubishi Materials Corp.

Within the Princeton Copper-Gold district is the Tulameen platinum camp. Most historic and some recent activity focused on placer exploitation of the Tulameen River and Granite Creek. Historic prospecting and some small scale mining developed several showings of platinum, high grade gold and copper. These showings are indentified on Minefile and several occur on Goldcliff’s claims. Proximity to ultrabasic intrusions is a key characteristic of several of these showings.

From 2008 to 2011, Goldcliff’s activity focused on the copper porphyry potential of the Whipsaw area. Exploration activity included a multi-sensor airborne geophysical survey, 79 line kilometres of 3D Induced Polarization survey, geologic mapping and stream and rock geochemical sampling. In 2014 several targets developed from this work were tested by diamond drilling. The drilling failed to locate significant copper porphyry style copper mineralization or alteration. The program was suspended by the optionor after four drill holes and Goldcliff retains a 100% interest in the project.

Further activity by Goldcliff will be focused on the high grade gold potential aw well as platinum occurrences related to ultrabasic rocks both in the mid to northern parts of the claimed area.
